EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson and "Tiger Mom" Amy Chua to Headline Mocha Moms, Inc. National Conference

LAS VEGAS, July 12, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Mocha Moms, Inc., the national non-profit organization that supports at-home mothers of color, has announced that EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, President Obama's cabinet member in charge of environmental protection, will host a town hall style forum during its national conference in Las Vegas, July 21-24 at the Bally's Paris Hotel. Amy Chua, bestselling author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, will also be the keynote speaker during an open to the public luncheon session on Saturday, July 23 about her controversial book, highlighting the rewards and costs of raising her two daughters the strict "Chinese" way. Both Administrator Jackson and Chua have been named on Time Magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Mocha Moms' Saturday, July 23 event, PARENT NATION 2011: Strategies for Raising Successful Children will be a fun, action-packed day for parents, child care providers and educators with a wide range of sessions on topics including bullying, building a better parent-child relationship and getting your child organized, among others. Kimberly Sears-Allers, prominent author of several best-selling books including The Mocha Manual to a Fabulous Pregnancy, will lead one of the highlighted conference workshops titled "8 steps to turn your passion into profit." Special guest will be veteran actress, Octavia Spencer, best known for her recurring role on ABC's Ugly Betty, who plays the unflappable Minny Jackson in the much anticipated movie.
