EPA Names Manitowoc Foodservice 2010 ENERGY STAR(R) Partner of the Year

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla., March 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Manitowoc Foodservice as a 2010 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing energy-efficient products and helping to educate consumers about those products. Manitowoc Foodservice's accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 18, 2010.

Manitowoc Foodservice, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2001, will be honored for its leadership in manufacturing products that earn the ENERGY STAR, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency. Manitowoc Foodservice remains focused on adding to its ENERGY STAR product lineup by continuing to invest in research and development leading to commercial foodservice equipment that is good for the industry as well as good for the environment. In 2009, our new product development, product line extensions, and existing model upgrades increased our ENERGY STAR portfolio by approximately 140 models – an increase of over 50%.
