LOS ANGELES, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Ervin Cohen & Jessup, the oldest and largest law firm in Beverly Hills, has proudly marked its 57-year milestone with top-story, street-front signage at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Canon Drive in Beverly Hills, according to Gary Freedman, partner at the firm.

There is no better way to demonstrate ECJ's long-standing presence in the city, where it all began for the firm nearly six decades ago, than to mount eye-catching signage. The new stealth blue moniker, dramatically lit at night, nearly dominates the entire east side of the 9401 Wilshire Boulevard top-story building facade. While most people in both the legal and business communities are already aware that Ervin Cohen & Jessup is a prominent fixture in town, now anyone traveling the Wilshire corridor will know as well.

Founded in 1953, by John Ervin, Leonard Cohen and Ed Jessup, the firm added a fourth partner four years later. The firm has grown steadily and consistently ever since the late fifties, despite many economic downturn cycles in the past half century.

The firm's original office was located at 139 South Beverly Drive. In 1963, however, ECJ moved to 9171 Wilshire Boulevard, and in 1971 settled in its current space at the corner of Wilshire and Canon. At that time, there were a total of 15 attorneys. Today, the firm has 51 attorneys and 34 partners.
