ESPN Sports Personality Jonathan Drubner Joins L&S Advisors, Inc. As Associate Director
LOS ANGELES, July 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Sports and finance may seem to be worlds apart, but for Jonathan Drubner, the Emmy-nominated ESPN personality known for his work on The ESPY Awards and ESPN Road Trip, these two worlds have never been more connected. Drubner is making the jump to a new role as associate director at L&S Advisors, Inc. (www.lsadvisors.com), the Los Angeles-based registered investment advisor (RIA) dedicated to portfolio management for high-net worth individuals.
At L&S Advisors, Drubner will be responsible for developing new channels of business within the sports and entertainment communities and for servicing existing clients. He will transfer the skills he cultivated in the world of sports to the world of finance - namely his unique ability to simultaneously educate and entertain. In doing so, Drubner anticipates making the potentially daunting investment process both inviting and comprehensible for those in need of guidance towards prudent, financial management solutions.
"We're delighted to have Jonathan on board at L&S Advisors," commented Sy Lippman, the firm's CEO and senior managing director. "His experience and relationships within the sports and entertainment communities will be invaluable in helping us better serve investors within those arenas who are seeking financial management services to navigate continued market volatility in the U.S. and global financial markets."
"Communicating with casual sports fans is not that different from communicating with casual investors," said Drubner. "In both scenarios, you have individuals with limited knowledge and/or interest who can enter a world, have it explained to them in a way that's both informative and enjoyable, and ultimately benefit greatly from the experience because they're being guided without being overwhelmed. I look forward to bringing the portfolio management expertise offered at L&S Advisors to individual investors within the sports and entertainment worlds."
Prior to joining L&S Advisors, Drubner was the head writer and co-producer of The ESPY Awards, the definitive sports awards show presented by ESPN, as well as the host and producer of ESPN Road Trip. Formerly, he was a partner and director of programming at g-NET Media, where he served as executive producer, writer, and talent for a variety of video game related programs for Spike TV, MTV, and AOL, among others.
Additionally, Jonathan provided marketing and copywriting services for such companies as VitaminWater, Reebok, EA Games, Heineken, Sony, and Movietickets.com, and wrote comedic material for Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Steve Carell, Mark Wahlberg, Jim Carrey, Justin Timberlake, Samuel L. Jackson, Lebron James, Jay Mohr, and many others.
Jonathan holds a B.A. degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and is a graduate of the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut. In his spare time, he volunteers as a mentor for Stoked, an action sports youth development agency whose mission is to promote personal development, academic achievement and healthy living to under-served youth through action sports culture.
