Shelton Continues Expansion with Institutional Growth Equity Expertise

DENVER and BOSTON, Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Shelton Capital Management ("Shelton") announced today that it has entered into an asset purchase agreement with Essex Investment Management Company, LLC ("Essex"), an SEC-registered investment adviser with expertise in SmallCap and MidCap equities. 

The agreement will expand Shelton's investment expertise and capabilities with the addition of an experienced, active portfolio management team currently serving institutional, family office and high-net-worth clients.  Essex manages growth-focused equity portfolios across two distinct investment teams.  They feature research and portfolio management expertise on markets ranging from micro, Smallcap, and Midcap names to thematic strategies.  Essex currently serves as the sub-advisor for two mutual funds offered by Equitable Investment Management's 1290 Funds and the Pear Tree Funds family. 

Under the agreement, the Essex team will incorporate Shelton's marketing expertise and tech stack, investment operations expertise and client-service platform while maintaining continuity of Essex's investment philosophy and portfolio management team.
