Esurance Recognized by ADDY Awards
San Francisco-based Auto Insurance Company Receives Two Silver Awards
SAN FRANCISCO, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- At its annual ADDY Awards presentation, the Greater San Francisco Ad Club recognized the in-house creative team at Esurance, the direct-to-consumer personal auto insurance company, in two categories. Both ADDYs were awarded for green-themed promotions, including a Silver ADDY for the Climate Action Month campaign, and another Silver for Tweets for Trees campaign, in the non-traditional advertising category.

Climate Action Month was a 31-day event hosted by EarthCorps in Washington State last fall. As part of its sponsorship for the event, Esurance created a series of posters to encourage Washington residents to volunteer. They also created a series of 31 postcards depicting eco-friendly acts that could be done daily, such as lowering the thermostat by one degree, switching to CFL light bulbs, and brown-bagging a work lunch. The posters, which replicate propaganda iconography, earned a Silver ADDY in the collateral material category.
The Esurance Tweets for Trees campaign is an ongoing green initiative that engages Twitter users and plants trees. @Esurance asks users what they'd rather do than drive, and for every tweeted answer that includes the hashtag #esurance, a tree is planted. The innovative campaign also includes interactive and ambient elements, which were recognized with a Silver award in the category of non-traditional advertising.
Esurance Design Manager, Michael Luzzo, credited the entire creative team and said, "To be acknowledged by our peers within the agency world is an honor. These awards are a testament to our dynamic creative team, and to their passion for working on sponsorships with an impact."
