Europe Fuel Injection Systems Market by Engine Type by Vehicle Type by Geography - Analysis & Forecast to 2019
LONDON, Oct. 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The European fuel injection system market is expected to grow from 22,803.9 thousand units in 2014 to 29,596.7 thousand units by 2019, at a CAGR of 5.3% during the period under consideration.
In a fuel injection system, the liquid fuel is injected in the form of mist into hot compressed air. This fuel then vaporizes and mixes with the air in order to get burnt. Complete mixing of fuel and air is essential for complete combustion. Any fuel that does not burn completely contributes to the hydrocarbon and particulate emissions. Introduction of the fuel injection system has helped reduce exhaust gases by complete combustion of fuel. The fuel injection system has components such as fuel pumps with aluminum hosing and injectors, which produce different spray patterns for combustion chambers; and airflow sensors that control accurate engine air intake and other components. The electronically controlled injection (or electronic fuel injection-EFI) helps control the injection of fuel, thereby avoiding excess fuel pumping for combustion. This reduces the partial combustion of fuel and thus decreases exhaust gases. Also, the extra fuel pumped in the fuel rail, is returned by the return pipe to avoid flooding and thereby hydrocarbon emissions.
The European fuel injection system market has been segmented and analyzed on the basis of vehicle type, fuel type, and geography. Passenger cars, LCV, and HCV are the vehicle types considered for the market analysis. The report also covers a detailed analysis about market volumes and revenues of fuel injection system for all these vehicle segments. The report segments the European market in terms of fuel type, into gasoline and diesel. Due to current regulations passed by EU, the demand for diesel fuel in the automobile industry is exceeding the demand for gasoline in the European countries. In addition to this, introduction of clean diesel and the improved fuel efficiency with advanced diesel engines have made diesel cars more popular in Europe.
The passenger car segment of Europe has been witnessing speedy growth in recent years. The passenger car segment was estimated at $10,234.6 million in 2014 and is projected to reach $13,253.5 million by 2019, at a CAGR of 5.3% during the period under consideration. The LCV and HCV segments are projected to grow at CAGRs of 7.7% and 7.0% respectively, during the given forecast period.
The Europe FIS market is a highly competitive market with a number of market players with advanced technologies. As of 2014, the European market is dominated by players such as Robert Bosch GmbH, Delphi Automotive plc, and Denso Corporation. New product launches, agreements, and joint ventures are among the key strategies adopted by most market players to catalyze their growth in the Europe fuel injection system market.
