European Enterprise Services Survey, 2013: Datacenter Outsourcing Strategies
This IDC study is based on 796 interviews with European companies from seven countries/regions in Western Europe across six industries and four company size groups. IDC's annual European Enterprise Service Survey shows that European companies remain keen on outsourcing. More than half have already outsourced all or parts of their datacenter management, and a large share plan to outsource more. Also, organizations not yet outsourcing the datacenter see a third considering doing so.
"There are a lot of opportunities for outsourcing providers," said Mette Ahorlu, research director, IDC European Services. "But competition is increasing as there are big changes in the market. More cost-efficient technologies and low-cost resources create expectations of both innovation and cost reduction. Loyalty among customers is going down, we see vendor switch rates increasing, and we recommend that vendors provide good quality of service as well as engage in conversations about innovation with their clients to ensure their renewals."
