European Parliament Pays Condolences to the Air India Crash
BRUSSELS, June 1, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- In a letter to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Member of the European Parliament Ismail Ertug sent a letter with his "heart felt condolences for the terrible tragedy that befell the Indian people on 22nd May through the crash of the Air India Express."
As a member of the Transport and Tourism Committee Ismail Ertug is working towards enhancing the security of all means of Transport in the European Union on a daily basis. "The 21st century requires constant mobility from us and could easily be titled the century of mobility. It is our responsibility as politicians to create a safer world for all our citizens in which they can travel in a safe manner. I therefore wish and hope that this terrible plane crash is a global exception and would like you to know that we all stand together as one when tragedy looms," says Ertug in the last paragraph of the letter.
