WALTHAM, Mass., Jan. 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- EuroSite Power Inc., an OnSite Utility, offering clean electricity, heat, hot water and cooling solutions to healthcare, multifamily housing and hotel properties in the United Kingdom, today announced the appointment of Dr. Ahmed F. Ghoniem to the Company's Board of Directors. Dr. Ghoniem joins John N. Hatsopoulos, Chairman, and Barry J. Sanders, CEO of EuroSite Power, as the Company's first non-executive board member.
Dr. Ahmed F. Ghoniem is the Ronald C. Crane (1972) Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is also the director of the Center for 21st Century Energy, and the head of Energy Science and Engineering at ME/MIT, where he plays a leadership role in many energy-related activities, initiatives and programs. He is associate fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Recently, he was granted the KAUST Investigator Award. Prof. Ghoniem holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.S. and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt.
