"At Every Man Jack, we don't just talk about sustainability—we live and breathe it in every aspect of our business," says CEO Gerry Chesser. "The outdoors is our inspiration, our source of strength, and our responsibility. This Earth Month, we're inviting people to take time for themselves outside, while also thinking about the choices they make with products and how it impacts the world around them. We're committed to making positive impacts on both the planet and the lives of those who enjoy it."
By encouraging people to embrace nature and reduce their environmental footprint, Every Man Jack continues to prove that sustainability is not just part of their business—it's essential to who they are.
PTO Campaign: Encouraging Time Outdoors
Nearly two-thirds of Americans don't fully use their Paid Time Off (PTO), and last year, 5.5% of Americans didn't take any PTO at all*. With Americans facing increasing burnout, Every Man Jack is launching its PTO Campaign to encourage individuals to take a break from work, spend more time outdoors, and embrace nature's mental and physical benefits.
The campaign, kicking off on Earth Day and running through the end of June, will feature several exciting initiatives, including:
- Consumer Hashtag Sweepstakes inviting consumers to take time off and share their #PTOwithEMJ experiences on social media for the chance to win the ultimate summer trip to Jackson Hole, WY.
- Creator "Tourism" Campaign enlisting ambassadors across the country to film nature explorations to inspire followers to get outside and share their experiences using #PTOwithEMJ.
- Giving Back to Places that Inspire by partnering with an expanded group of environmental organizations to protect the places its audience loves, including:
- The Surfrider Foundation to support coastal preservation and reducing plastic impact in marine ecosystems
- Tree Canada to grow resilient ecosystems and healthier, greener communities
- Ongoing support for the National Forest Foundation, which will plant 25,000 trees to offset its carbon footprint, and One Tam to help protect and restore Mt. Tamalpais, home to Every Man Jack's headquarters.
New Deodorant Packaging: Reducing Virgin Plastic Use by Half a Million Pounds Annually
Every Man Jack is unveiling new deodorant packaging that will significantly reduce the use of virgin plastic by half a million pounds annually—an amount more than the weight of a whale. The new design ensures that the deodorant packaging is made from 100% polypropylene mono-material, making it fully recyclable and reducing contamination in recycling streams.
The updated packaging is also made with 50% post-consumer recycled resin, contributing to the saving of up to 500,000 pounds of virgin plastic each year. As a top ten deodorant brand in MULO and one of the fastest-growing deodorant brands in the men's grooming category, this packaging refresh is part of the brand's broader commitment to environmental sustainability and aligns with Every Man Jack's commitment to achieve 50% post-consumer recycled plastic across the entire portfolio by weight in 2025, which has now been achieved with this latest innovation.
Impact Highlights and Sustainability Achievements:
Every Man Jack's 2024 Impact Report showcases the brand's ongoing sustainability efforts and the tangible outcomes of its packaging update. Notable highlights from the report include:
- Reformulated 125 products to meet new clean ingredient standards–now 100% of products produced comply with those standards.
- FSC-certified paper doubled from 25% to 50%; by the end of 2025, 100% of paper packaging will be FSC-certified, supporting responsibly managed forests and sustainable sourcing.
- The team contributed nearly 500 hours of collective volunteer time, with 90% team participation.
- 1% of net proceeds were donated to non-profit organizations to help protect nature, preserve access to the outdoors, and strengthen community well-being.
At the core of Every Man Jack's mission is its commitment to not only caring for men's grooming needs but also the planet. Whether it's encouraging consumers to take time outdoors or reducing plastic waste through innovative packaging, the brand continues to lead by example in its pursuit of sustainability and environmental responsibility.
