Everyday Health, Inc. Names Former ABC News Executive Paul Slavin to Lead Expanded Effort in Health Video and Global News

NEW YORK, Sept. 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Everyday Health, Inc., a leading digital publisher of health information, announced today that the distinguished news executive Paul Slavin will join the company today as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global News and Everyday Health Studios. This is a new position at Everyday Health, Inc. and reflects the company's expanding operations in video and health newsgathering and reporting.

Slavin had been a Senior Vice President, New Media, at the ABC News unit of The Walt Disney Co., where he was responsible for all of ABC News' digital content (including ABCNews.com), mobile and broadband communications.

Slavin will have broad responsibilities at Everyday Health for expanding news operations, including developing future opportunities for the company's professional business unit, MedpageToday, and for leading a new video unit, Everyday Health Studios, which encompasses video operations across the Everyday Health, Inc. portfolio and the recently launched Everyday Health television series, airing Saturdays on ABC affiliates. He will report to Goli Sheikholesiami, Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer.

In this new role at Everyday Health, Slavin will focus on developing an innovative and engaging video strategy for the entire portfolio including prestigious brands such as EverydayHealth.com, MedPage Today, and Daily Glow among others. Additionally, Slavin will be responsible for strategy, delivery and execution of innovative video channels (broadcast and digital) which will lay the foundation for the Everyday Health Studios business unit, as well as expanding both EHI's consumer and professional audiences.

In his role overseeing New Media at ABC, Slavin was charged with business development, revenue strategy, sales, operations, editorial, marketing, production and programming. Within six months of taking charge of this business unit, Slavin led a turnaround that reorganized the structure, re-launched the cable broadband channel, and produced a profit. He previously spent 33 years at ABC News, rising to Senior Vice President, Worldwide Newsgathering. Additionally, he was the Executive Producer of "World News Tonight with Peter Jennings."

Slavin has won numerous awards for his reporting and production, including 12 broadcast Emmy Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Overseas Press Club Award and a Peabody, among others.
