As Chief Operating Officer, Slavin is responsible for strategy and operations across the company's business units including its news offering for consumers on EverydayHealth.com and for healthcare professionals on MedpageToday.com. This team provides in-depth, award winning health information for its audiences and covers over 120 of the world's leading medical conferences. In addition to these responsibilities, Slavin oversees premium services and local business units. The premium services' online and mobile apps offer personalized, subscription-based health and wellness programs for best-in-class brands including JillianMichaels.com and SouthBeachDiet.com. The local division connects patients with local doctors for health related services, and includes the leading dental site TopDentists.com. Slavin will also continue to deliver and execute on innovative digital video and broadcast channels for the company's consumer and professional audiences.
Previously, Slavin served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global News and Everyday Health Studios. Under his leadership, the company became a leader in online video in the health sector. Slavin also led Everyday Health in two firsts: becoming the first digital media company to earn an Emmy nomination, and bringing Everyday Health's YouTube original series, "Recipe Rehab," to television (currently airing on ABC stations). Prior to joining Everyday Health in September 2011, Slavin had been a Senior Vice President, New Media, at the ABC News unit of The Walt Disney Co., where he ran ABC's global news gathering organization. He was responsible for all of ABC News' digital content including ABCNews.com, mobile and broadband communications and produced "World News Tonight with Peter Jennings." Slavin has won numerous awards for his reporting and production, including 12 broadcast Emmy Awards, the Edward R. Murrow Overseas Press Club Award and a Peabody, among others.
