- Pro-Bono Incubator Program Looks for New Ventures -
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- EvoNexus, a startup incubator program, has announced the next open call for applications for EvoNexus San Diego and Irvine locations running now until August 31. This will be the first official round that includes the opportunity for placement in the new CiscoEIR@EvoNexus and Mitchell@EvoNexus programs.
EvoNexus is a completely pro-bono, no strings attached technology incubator program. EvoNexus provides fully furnished office space, bandwidth, mentorship, oversight, access to start-up focused programming, strategic partner introductions, access to capital and the opportunity to the leverage the CommNexus network of executives and serial entrepreneurs.
EvoNexus has also recently announced two new partnerships with Cisco Systems (CiscoEIR@EvoNexus) and Mitchell International (Mitchell@EvoNexus). Both of these entities have published areas of interest and will be independently looking at the startups admitted into EvoNexus to consider investing initial seed funding.
Since launching in October 2009, EvoNexus has received over 700 applications and has admitted 68 companies. Of these, 7 were acquired and 58 are still active. The EvoNexus incubator companies have created over 1000 jobs and raised $573M in venture funding to date.
"EvoNexus has energized the San Diego startup community. As our metrics continue to build, more and more large strategic partners are stepping up to invest in the early stage ventures at EvoNexus" said Rory Moore, CEO of CommNexus. "Early strategic investment is bringing San Diego's angel money back in the game. Once that happens, the hard to get institutional money will follow. We believe EvoNexus can be replicated in Irvine and are committed to repeating the success there as well."
EvoNexus has two San Diego locations in UTC and Downtown and is currently expanding to a third location in Irvine, which will be located in the University Research Park area across from UC Irvine. This application round will accept applications for all three locations.
