New e-Learning site allows users to successfully mount defence against traffic-related charges
OTTAWA, Aug. 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Every driver has felt the financial sting of a traffic ticket. Until now, drivers either swallowed hard and paid the fine or sought the services of a paralegal in the hopes of getting a reduced fine or charges dropped. Either way, it's likely to be a costly affair.
Now a former police officer has created an interactive website that provides access to the tools and information drivers need to successfully represent themselves. Created by former Ottawa police Sergeant Rob Stocki, TrafficTicket.TV is an easily navigable, information-rich website that allows Ontario users to learn and apply the most appropriate defences to the charges against them. No comparable service exists in any jurisdiction.
"As a police officer, I've watched many people defend themselves against traffic charges. Although they have a case, they may not be successful because they don't understand the system or know how to navigate it," says Stocki. "The deck is stacked against drivers."
Stocki explains that most information found on the internet is anecdotal and not specific to an offence or pertinent to the province of Ontario. TrafficTicket.TV provides free access to material related to an alleged traffic offence, such as speeding, careless driving, or an accident. Users can search and better understand the charge, interpret the ticket and learn about the number of demerit points; whether they can be arrested, go to jail, face a roadside suspension, or have their vehicle seized; the impact on a novice driver; etc.
For a modest fee - $35.00 for information pertinent to a single charge, and $10.00 for each additional offence for which guidance is needed - the site provides in-depth advice about evidence; how to secure full disclosure from police and analyze the information; case law precedents; and how to manage their defence and appearance at trial.
A series of tutorials on the home page demonstrate exactly how TrafficTicket.TV works, allowing users to make an informed decision before committing to the service.
TrafficTicket.TV allows drivers charged with an offence to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars in defence costs and increased insurance rates. Studies, verified by insurance professionals, have shown that an increase in car insurance premiums for a driver with a single conviction can be as high as almost $15,000 spread over three to five years.
Once clients sign up for the service, TrafficTicket.TV coaches clients on how to proceed with their defence and trial. TrafficTicket.TV has already proven itself, with clients who have used the service experiencing success with no convictions and no fines to pay.
TrafficTicket.TV is currently available in Ontario. TrafficTicket.TV is seeking experienced legal professionals to rapidly expand the service across Canada and the United States.
