Executives graduate from UNC's Global Executive OneMBA® Program

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., June 11, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School graduated its ninth class of OneMBA®, the global executive MBA program, on June 9, 2012.

The executives began their studies in 2010 in Washington, D.C. with students from UNC's four partner schools:

• The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in Hong Kong SAR, China
• Fundacao Getulio Vargas, Escola de Administracao de Empresas de Sao Paulo (FGV-EAESP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil
• EGADE, Tecnologico de Monterrey, School of Business Administration and Leadership (EGADE-ITESM) in Monterrey, Mexico
• Erasmus University, The Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) in Rotterdam, The Netherlands

They worked with their worldwide class during residencies in the Netherlands, Turkey, Mexico, Brazil, India, Hong Kong and the United States. They also worked together and gained experience in global virtual teaming, a significant component of OneMBA.

This class averaged 12.5 years work experience at organizations such as Biogen Idec, World Bank, IBM, U.S. Department of State, Merck, Wells Fargo and the FBI.  They traveled from six states, Washington, D.C. and Denmark to study in OneMBA. 

Tesa Oechsle, OneMBA 2006, addressed the graduates. She is CFO and treasurer at LORD Corporation and, in 2011, Triangle Business Journal named her Raleigh-Durham's "CFO of the Year." 

This year, OneMBA celebrates 10 years, during which UNC built a unique global executive MBA program boasting more than 1,000 alumni in more than 50 countries around the world.  The graduates joined this network by completing a program which offers:

Graduates presented the excellence in teaching award to Sridhar Balasubramanian, Roy and Alice H. Richards Bicentennial Distinguished Scholar, Associate Dean of the MBA Program and professor of marketing.
