NEW YORK, Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- eXelate, the data engine powering privacy-safe audience access within the digital advertising ecosystem, today announced the promotion of the current Chief Revenue Officer Mark S. Zagorski to the Company's new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Meir (Iri) Zohar, the company's founder and first CEO, will be returning to his native Israel. Meir, a serial entrepreneur, will remain an executive within the company, leveraging his deep knowledge of the data driven advertising world to continue to help eXelate grow.

"In the last several years eXelate has emerged as a thought, technology and business leader in the exciting market of data for advertising," said Shlomo Dovrat, General Partner, Co-founder, Carmel Ventures and eXelate Board Member. "Following the completion of a large financing round led by strong U.S. VCs and the company's impressive business growth, we have decided to entrust Mark with leading the company to its next stage of growth. Mark has proven to be an effective and inspiring manager and we are excited with the prospects of eXelate under his leadership. I would like to thank Meir Zohar for bringing his innovative vision of eXelate to life and leading it to a tremendous success. "

A digital industry pioneer since his days as a Group Director at Modem Media-Poppe Tyson in 1997, Zagorski joined eXelate as Chief Revenue Officer in April 2008 and was instrumental in launching the business in the U.S., where the company is currently headquartered. Under Mark's direction, the Company debuted the eXelate Targeting eXchange, unveiled the first Data Management Platform and introduced the first private data marketplace for publishers.

Previously, Mark was EVP, Chief Marketing Officer at MediaSpan, a software and online advertising services company for over 1,000 local media properties. Prior, he was President of WorldNow, the leading online network of local television news media properties. Mark holds an MBA from the University of Rochester's Simon School of Business and a BS in Finance from Gannon University, where he was awarded the University's Distinguished Young Alumnus Award.

"I was fortunate to turn a vision into reality and with the able team we assembled, to turn eXelate into a clear leader in the data space, building the industry-standard audience access platform, expanding our  data footprint to cover 200 million Unique Visitors, and growing revenue in excess of 400% each year," said Meir Zohar. "As I now return to Israel for personal reasons, both the Board and I strongly believe that eXelate couldn't have hoped for a better replacement than Mark. I'm confident that his commitment, vision and execution skills will help eXelate continue its growth, expansion and leadership in the space."

Since its U.S. launch, eXelate has become the leader in publisher solutions for managing access to audience segments and creating a marketplace for monetizing audiences in a transparent and privacy-friendly manner. eXelate's data management tools are the engine driving hundreds of millions of publisher-direct data transactions each month, protecting access to valuable audience assets for dozens of leading publishers.

"Meir Zohar's vision and leadership over the last few years has been exemplary," said Mark Zagorski, eXelate's new CEO. "Following the support of our investors, who committed $16 million in funding to eXelate this year, and of our Board, I look forward to continuing to execute against Meir's market-leading vision and further cementing eXelate as the industry standard engine powering audience data access."
