SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Expensify announced it is solidly entrenched among contractors and small businesses, with over 90,000 organizations and 650,000 individuals using the service. These organizations are incredibly diverse, and include well-known names such as Evernote, Square and Tumblr.
To keep the app "suck free," Expensify is adding four plans to support the specific needs of different sized organizations, and is also launching an inside salesforce to accelerate adoption among medium-sized companies.
"As we approach a million users across all walks of life, it's no surprise that our 'one size fits all' model was fitting fewer and fewer people," said CEO David Barrett. "With this change, whether you're a parent tracking home expenses, a contractor invoicing clients, a church reimbursing missionaries, or a company managing a field salesforce -- now we have a plan that fits you like a glove."
The update launches with four separate plans which build on each other as people upgrade.
- The Personal plan is tailored to people testing out the app and is completely free to use. It includes credit card import, Evernote sync, basic expense report submission and PayPal reimbursement, unlimited email and mobile receipt uploads, and 10 free scans per month -- just take a picture of the receipt and Expensify will do the typing for you!
- The Professional plan is for power users and contractors. It includes Freshbooks sync and the option to purchase additional receipt scans beyond the 10 free per month.
- The Team plan takes functionality even further with the ability to create and share expense policies, and sync all expenses with the QuickBooks ledger.
- Finally, the Corporate plan is dedicated to serving businesses by adding administrative control over employee accounts, enhanced expense policies that can be customized with more rules, and the option to reimburse expenses to employees anywhere in the United States through direct deposit to their bank account. This Company plan is the focus of a new, dedicated salesforce targeting midsize companies under 1,000 employees.
To celebrate this release and encourage everyone to experience Expensify's premium receipt scanning service, all plans include unlimited, completely free receipt scanning until the end of the year. David Barrett concludes that "this new tiered pricing plan will let us streamline functionality for the low end while adding more advanced functionality for the high end -- creating a plan that feels 'just right' for more of our hugely diverse userbase."
