Expert-Led Workshops Help Meet Demand for Data Storytellers
WASHINGTON, March 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The appetite for infographics and data visualization is exploding. NGOs, government agencies, publications, design studios and companies of all stripes need staff that can think strategically about communicating the massive amounts of data their organizations generate every day.
To help meet this demand, information designer Bill Shander has led data visualization workshops internationally to introduce the concepts of data storytelling to professionals in a range of roles, including those in PR, marketing, data analysis and design. To address this, he launched Rock The VizComm teaching design thinking, visual communications of data and his 4x4 model for knowledge content.
While large institutions and individual experts have offered data visualization and infographic courses, Rock The VizComm is a unique immersive plunge into data and has served as an unofficial continuing education program for those who need practical support improving data storytelling.
