Extended Partnership Between Soomo Publishing and the College Publishing Group of CQ Press
LOS ANGELES, LONDON, NEW DELHI, SINGAPORE and WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The College Publishing Group of CQ Press, which publishes authoritative textbooks on political science and journalism, today announced an extended partnership with Soomo Publishing, publisher of web-based ancillaries for the college market. This continuing partnership between two independent publishers provides instructors and students in Comparative Government courses with a low cost instructional package jam-packed with top-notch content and engaging new media.
With the new agreement, Soomo will incorporate an e-book version of CQ Press's "Introducing Comparative Politics, Concepts and Cases in Context" by Carol Ann Drogus and Stephen Orvis into their web-based product, Comparing Governments (www.comparinggovernments.com).
Through an analysis of new scholarship and by providing an "ideal middle ground" between traditional and current approaches, Introducing Comparative Politics offers a thematic introduction to the field, bolstered with country-based case studies. This new web collection includes the "who, what, where, and why" of comparative politics in Comparing Governments, Soomo's online resource drawing from documentaries, essays, primary documents, interviews, magazines and journals to present a collection of interactions that leave students wanting to know more.
"Comparing Governments provides ready-to-use, interactive assignments that engage students and incite classroom discussion, utilizing the best of the web resources available today for comparative politics courses," said David Lindrum, founder and CEO of Soomo Publishing.
"We're pleased to incorporate Introducing Comparative Politics into the well-received Comparing Governments suite," commented Brenda Carter, Executive Director of the CQ Press College Publishing Group. "Soomo's online resources engage students, challenge the status quo, and do so at a reasonable price - something we've also continuously worked toward here at CQ Press. And this latest version of Comparing Governments, with the new CQ Press content, will be available for instructors to use as soon as the spring 2010 semester."
