HOLLAND, Mich., July 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Extreme AST includes new technology: the new RSL SCI (Repetitive Shock Low Frequency, Solenoid Control Impactor) system. Users no longer have to choose between a low frequency and a high Grms system because the table is capable of running in three modes with a soft start feature: low frequency, high frequency, and synchronized shock.
Dual strike impactors impart stress in both directions to offer better displacement and higher peak stress levels while using 50% less compressed air. Both the frequency and intensity of each impactor can be controlled offering uniform frequency and amplitude while exciting more failures and fatigue in products that could not previously be broken with traditional HALT/HASS systems.
- Low Frequency: Smooth spectrum, XYZ-axis balance and more energy below 1,000Hz
- High Frequency: Capable of running at 100+ Grms
- Synchronized Shock: Offers 1,500 Gpk, exciting failures in products that could not previously be broken with traditional HALT/HASS testing
- Soft Start: Ramping up to 1.0 Grms for sensitive products
The system comes with Thermotron's 8800 programmer controller providing a simple interface with comprehensive test set-up and report generation. The 8800 programmer controller includes product temperature and multi-channel control, ThermAlarm, vibration alarm, PSD vibration analysis, and is Ethernet enabled.
