Extreme Networks Honors Manassas Park City Schools for Dedication in Delivering an All-Digital Personalized Learning Environment

Manassas Park City Schools has made it a priority to embrace the latest technology innovations in order to transition to an all-digital learning environment to meet student needs. With a reliable, software-driven wired and wireless network infrastructure with advanced visibility and control, ExtremeManagement and use of data-driven decisions, Manassas Park City Schools was able to support a fully 1:1 personalized learning environment for all 5th – 12th grade students as well as online state testing initiatives. The division is pleased to report that all four schools are fully accredited by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE), one of 53 school divisions (out of 132) in the Commonwealth where all schools met the state benchmarks. The Exemplary School Award is presented to schools that meet the following criteria:

• Stimulate 24x7 Learning: To meet the demands of today's competitive global economy, schools must create lifetime learners. To promote this concept and qualify for the Extreme Exemplary School Award, a school must institute a 1:1 or Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) mobile learning environment.

• Facilitate Individual Instruction: Learning is not a one-size-fits-all environment. Networks and resources must be empowered to permit personalized learning.

• Encourage Curricular Growth: To meet the demands of curricular change, a district must implement an infrastructure that readily adapts to curricular needs. Everyone learns differently, and the network must be prepared to meet the growing requirements of eBooks, streaming video and blended or flipped learning.

"Just this year, we expanded the 1:1 initiative to the 5th, 6th and 7th grades. We are pleased to be able to support over 3,000 devices throughout the school division," said Dr. Bruce McDade, superintendent of Manassas Park City Schools.
