Eyesight Test with Google Glass

Google Glass is an exciting new piece of technology slated for release to the general public as early as 2014. Worn as one would wear everyday eyewear, Google Glass boasts a tiny computer situated above the right eye. Google Glass responds to ordinary voice commands, takes pictures and videos, and serves up information such as weather and traffic reports as competently as any fully-functioning handheld device. Being in its developmental stages, Google Glass has garnered only a handful of apps so far, making EZContacts' contribution that much more exciting.

While the Snellen Chart is the more popular eye exam, EZexam uses the tumbling E Chart to test the user's vision. The E Chart presents the letter E in various positions asking the patient to point in the direction of the limbs. The E Chart is used to test the vision of young children and others unfamiliar with the Latin alphabet. In EZexam, individual E's appear on each screen, asking the user to state the position of the E. Users simply state whether the E is pointing up, down, left or right to be taken to the next level. After all of the levels have been completed, users receive a score of their visual acuity.

The app leverages the Google Apps Mirror API, along with voice controls to test the eyesight. The  EZexam will test vision in your Glass Eye, or right eye, as Google Glass only allows you to see through the right eye as of yet. EZexam is not meant to replace a regular eye exam with your doctor, but it may help you pass the time pleasurably in the waiting room.
