eZCom Adds Innovative New Features that Simplify EDI

Increased ASN Flexibility and Pallets Capability help companies eliminate waste, reduce inventory, and manage more efficient and accurate supply chains

ENGLEWOOD, N.J., March 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- eZCom Software Inc., a leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of multi-enterprise supply chain solutions, today announced that it has significantly enhanced its Lingo™ hosted EDI service with greater ASN Flexibility and new Pallets Capability. Both features are the result of eZCom's ongoing collaboration with its customers to add new capabilities to Lingo that meet the customers' specific business needs.

Recognized within the retail supply chain as an easy-to-use, web-based application, Lingo offers powerful batch processing capabilities that allow users to create hundreds of ASNs in just seconds. In Spring 2010, eZCom announced Enhanced ASN Maneuverability, allowing users to split orders and stores from ASNs and add them to new or alternate shipments. Conversely, vendors can also consolidate smaller shipments into a single larger shipment. This is performed while keeping all fulfillment details intact, inclusive of GS1-128 carton serial numbers and barcodes. Users never have to repack cartons on ASNs, reprint barcode labels, or replace labels on physical cartons.

Increased ASN Flexibility – Lingo's ASN Maneuverability has been updated with additional functionality.  Users can be increasingly specific and select individual cartons within orders and move them to a new or alternate ASN, thus splitting portions of orders without having to repack cartons and reprint barcode labels.  This new capability removes boundaries and limitations allowing companies to achieve maximum efficiencies at a particularly granular level, resulting in time and cost reductions of up to three hours per shipment.

Woodinville, WA-based Kische, a manufacturer of fine women's apparel, has been taking advantage of Lingo's ASN Maneuverability for several months to help streamline fulfillment to retail customers such as Nordstrom's, Lord and Taylor, Dillard's, and Bon Ton. According to Diane Walker, Vice President, Kische, "Kische has been using Lingo's Enhanced ASN Maneuverability to drive greater efficiencies out of our warehouse fulfillment processes. With many retail clients and large volume shipments moving through our warehouse, having to make last minute shifts of cartons from one shipment to another is not uncommon.  With this enhancement that allows us to quickly move cartons from one ASN to another, eZCom has once again taken the complexity out of our logistics process with our large EDI customers."

Pallets Capability – eZCom has added a Pallets Capability to its SaaS-based EDI service that is comparable to the ASN pallet management features of much larger enterprise systems.  Incorporating its advanced document creation concepts, this new function allows users to create multiple pallets and add cartons to pallets in batch either by manual selection or by uploading cartons from an external file or warehouse management system.  Users can also incorporate barcode scanning to initiate pallet selection, assign cartons and close pallets. The Lingo Pallets Capability is specifically appealing to vendors who need to ship larger volume orders to big nationwide retail chains.

"eZCom is focused on helping people at small and medium sized companies solve real supply chain problems," said Marc Kalman, co-founder and CEO of eZCom Software. "We make a point of listening to our customers and then adding new features to Lingo that have been proven to be some of the easiest and most efficient tools for managing large EDI-based retailer relationships.  It brings me great satisfaction to know we are successful in helping businesses improve operational and supply chain efficiencies."
