ezeep Announces Bold Expansion from Mobile Printing into Cloud Printing Market
Sascha Kellert's Berlin-Based Startup Takes on Google Cloud Print
BERLIN, August 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
ezeep, the Berlin-based tech startup that built its reputation as a European standard bearer of mobile printing, today announced a broad expansion: Cloud-Managed Printing. It's ezeep's answer to the managed print services industry, which the IDC predicts to reach a $40.5 billion market by 2015.

A software-as-a-service (SaaS) that outsources print-infrastructure management, ezeep consolidates disparate, on-site print management tools. With one-time setup and configuration, it eliminates the need for internal IT maintenance and individual driver installation, while providing seamless desktop and mobile printing.
Company CEO Sascha Kellert says, "Mobile printing is growing by roughly 55% CAGR to more than $1 billion by 2015, with office workers' bring-your-own-device trend providing continuous access and mobility. We built our name as a mobile-printing provider, with service in 12 countries, but it's abundantly clear our team has greater disruptive potential."
"Based on consumer research," Mr. Kellert says, "Small-to-medium enterprise spends an average of 1%-6% of revenue maintaining a printer network. Base-level systems functions--what Skype, Salesforce, HubSpot and now ezeep provide--shouldn't eat into companies' bottom lines. ezeep Cloud-Managed Printing tackles one of the largest, most needless IT pains and cost centers, while effectively modernizing what's been an innovation-free zone since the 1980s. What Google Cloud Print is trying to create, we're actually achieving."
Former Skype Chief Operating Officer, Mangrove Capital Partner and ezeep Board Member Michael Jackson says, "Developing functioning printer networks poses a huge task for a company, yet it's not even a blip for a cloud platform. Running around installing printer drivers or fielding calls from angry colleagues is far from the best use of scarce IT staff. This low-skill function largely disappears with ezeep. It's a bad joke that employees have to play the lottery every time they hit 'print' and walk to the printer."
