Fairfax Law Foundation Society of Fellows Program Announces First Annual Fairfax Fellows Golden Gavel Awards

FAIRFAX, Va., March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Society of Fellows of the Fairfax Bar Association and the Central Fairfax Chamber of Commerce have announced the First Annual Fairfax Fellows Golden Gavel Awards program. Award recipients will be recognized at an Awards Dinner to be held at The Country Club of Fairfax on Thursday, September 20, 2012.
Nominations are currently being accepted and forms can be obtained by calling Sonya M. Duchak, Development Coordinator, Fairfax Bar Association at (703) 627-1228. The awards will go to individuals who have demonstrated significant leadership, commitment, and involvement with Fairfax County's charitable activities and programs. The Fairfax Fellows Leadership Awards Selection Committee will evaluate candidates from several categories including: Education, Corporate, Entertainment, Not-for-Profit, Legal, and Emerging Leader.
"We are pleased to launch the inaugural Leadership Awards program," said Al Bonin, Society of Fellows Co-Chair and Managing Partner of Shoun, Bach, Walinsky & Curran. "We wish to recognize those who have given so much to improve our community and at the same time raise funds for the programs we support."
Proceeds from the awards banquet will benefit community educational and charitable activities supported by the Fairfax Law Foundation. While awardees are not required to reside or be headquartered in Fairfax County, the awardees' contributions must benefit the charitable activities and programs of Fairfax County.
