Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance Announces Sharing the Passion Award Winners
WESTPORT, Conn., Sept. 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Each year, the Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance recognizes and applauds individuals who dedicate their energies to furthering the field of collecting and to preserving significant automobiles and motorcycles to the benefit of others by honoring them with Sharing the Passion awards.
McKeel Hagerty exemplifies the qualities inherent in this tribute through his commitment to ensuring the longevity of the collector car community. The Collectors Foundation that he founded preserves the collector-car and boat hobbies by providing scholarships for education, library and museum programs, and youth-oriented activities. Hagerty, CEO of Hagerty Insurance Agency, Inc., promotes the heritage of the automobile and advocates for collector-car owners in legislatures through the family-founded Historic Vehicle Association. His youth involvement initiatives include Operation Ignite! Connecting Cars and Kids Program. The Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance welcomes the Hagerty Youth Judges for the fourth year, inviting kids age 8 to 15 to learn the basics of judging.
