October moves into cooler weather perfect for the many outdoor patios and beer gardens with great food and music. There is the Falling Rock Music & Fall Festival, free concerts under the stars at the Whitewater Amphitheatre on the Guadalupe River, Gruene Hall features Hal Ketchum and there's Robert Earl Keen at the Gruene Music & Wine Festival. The big event of the fall season is Wurstfest, a 10-day celebration of sausage, November 7-16. This year a craft beer tasting adds to the fun. The entertainment is German music and bands and you can polka and chicken dance till you need more food and drink to start the fun all over again in New Braunfels.
