Introducing Mitch Peterson, M.D. and Dan Clayton, M.D. New to the Families First Team
Dr. Mitch Peterson grew up in Sandy, Utah, with 4 brothers and 1 sister. They kept their pediatrician busy with many visits for stitches and broken bones. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Brigham Young University. He then graduated from medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After medical school, he returned to Salt Lake City and performed his pediatric residency training at Primary Children's Hospital with the University of Utah. He and his wife have a growing family with several cute children. He loves spending time with them, playing basketball, snowboarding, and enjoying mountain trails, lakes, and reservoirs.
Dr. Dan Clayton was born and raised in Salt Lake until he moved to the suburbs of New York for his teenage years. He returned to Utah for his undergraduate studies where he majored in English, and then headed back to New York for medical school at Columbia University. He then spent the next three years completing his residency in pediatrics at UCSD in sunny San Diego before returning to the mountains of Utah where he has been a community pediatrician since 2005. He is board certified and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dan enjoys diversity and the wonderful relationships he has made with parents and their children from all over the world. When not working, he loves spending time with his amazing wife and four kids, mountain biking, skiing, and he is always grateful for good book recommendations.
