FamilyNet Produces "Somebody Cares For the Southeast" Benefit at NorthStar Studios

NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --  FamilyNet television will be taping a 2 hour benefit on Tuesday, May 17th for victims of the recent tornadoes and floods that have impacted residents in the Southeast region. The two hour music benefit to be broadcast on FamilyNet, Sunday, May 22, at 7pm (Eastern), will be shot in HD at NorthStar Studios production facility in Nashville.  Hosted by Gary Chapman, the benefit will feature many concerned performing artists who are lending their talents and efforts to raise funds and awareness for the victims.  Funds raised will be distributed through the "Somebody Cares" organization that will distribute services and support to help aid victims at a grass roots level.

The two hour televised special will include performances by many music artists, interviews with victims impacted by the disasters, and footage of the areas devastated by both the tornadoes and flooding.  Executive Producers for the "Somebody Cares" special are Scott Miller and Michael Turner.  "Somebody Cares" is a nonprofit organization supporting the needs of victims of the Southeast region.  Viewers will be encouraged to donate, by going online to www.somebodycares.org or texting "icare" to 37284.
