Farm and construction machinery set for major equipment auction March 18
AMES, Iowa, Feb. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tractors, harvesters, cultivators, trucks, backhoes, forklifts, trailers and other farm and construction equipment will sell in a DreamDirt auction Tuesday, March 18, at the newly opened Jeff and Deb Hansen Agricultural Student Center at Iowa State University.
"We're very excited about this, because the new center will accommodate an event that will showcase each machine in a setting where bidders can be comfortable and seated. That provides a perfect situation for the seller and buyer alike. We've already lined up some great pieces. We'll be adding a lot more in the next couple of weeks," said Jason Smith, president of the company.
DreamDirt will accept consignments from dealers, farmers, construction companies, government agencies and others through March 15.
"This is really the ideal time to buy and sell machinery, as moderate weather approaches and farmers move into the 2014 growing season. With the high prices of new equipment, quality used equipment is in high demand. This auction will bring together the people with equipment to sell and those looking to add or upgrade," said Smith.
DreamDirt has been expanding its Iowa operations, with the recent addition of David Whitaker, who is based in the Ames area and will focus on Central Iowa, taking a lead role in the Ames auction.
"David was won state bid-calling titles in Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska and is one of the region's most respected auctioneers," said Smith.
The auction will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at the Jeff and Deb Hansen Agricultural Student Center, Ames. Individuals seeking to consign equipment or learn more about the auction may contact Whitaker at 515-460-8585.
DreamDirt, based in Mondamin, Iowa, sells farms, recreational land, homes and other assets throughout Iowa by auction as well as through private treaty sales.
