Back-to-School Charity Sale Will Benefit Local Nonprofits and Schools
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Just in time for back-to-school, the Belk Charity Sale returns offering customers exclusive discounts on top designer brands and the opportunity to support local schools and charities. This private ticketed event will take place on Saturday, August 25 from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the first 100 customers in each store will receive a Belk gift card ranging from $5 to $100.
Each year, Belk partners with nonprofit organizations across its 16-state footprint to help fundraise through charity sale events. With a legacy of giving back to local communities, the Belk Charity Sale has contributed more than $50 million to over 6,000 southern nonprofits since 2012. This August, Belk will feature its first Charity Sale for the back-to-school season, targeting schools and education nonprofits.

To access the private shopping event, customers must purchase a $5 ticket and that $5 ticket price will be deducted from their total purchase when they return to shop on August 25. Tickets can be obtained from partnering schools and charities, and 100 percent of proceeds will stay with that organization. Tickets can also be purchased directly from Belk and all in-store ticket sale donations will be divided among that store's partner charities.
While the Back-to-School Charity Sale is focused on education nonprofits, Belk welcomes all charities to participate and encourages customers to get their favorite organizations involved by contacting their local Belk store.
