PLEASANTON, Calif., May 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Faz Poursohi proudly announces his sixth Bay Area restaurant: Faz Restaurant & Bar, Opening Summer 2015, as the flagship restaurant of the new Verdant community at Zanker and East Tasman, just minutes from the new 49er Levi Stadium and Samsung headquarters. Faz expands his healthy Persian inspired Mediterranean concept to a new community of: renters, homeowners, high-tech businesses, and sports fans in Silicon Valley.
The concept: Food & Design
Faz's Persian inspired Mediterranean food is often described as full of tasty contradictions: exotic but approachable, healthy & sustainable but hearty & affordable, stylized but retaining its original character. While Chef/Owner Faz often draws from his own Persian heritage for inspiration he continues to reinvent the European Mediterranean classics of house made ravioli, pastas, and flatbreads with his own unique perspective.
The new San Jose Faz is a glimmering urban oasis. Traditional mosaic inspired decorative touches are fresh with vibrant hues of turquoise, yellow, and chartreuse representing the sea, sun and citrus of Faz's home. Natural elements of wood, copper and marble portray a modern Mediterranean medina. And just like all seaside bistros the Verdant Faz has a large outdoor patio where clientele can sun and people watch while sipping cocktails, dining in style, and watching the world go by.
A Proud Culinary History
Legendary restaurateur Rich Melman, of Lettuce Entertain You fame, recruited Faz into restaurants while he was earning his Systems Engineering Degree in Chicago. He worked his way up the line at legendary Chicago restaurants like the Pump Room in the Ambassador East Hotel. Faz's first foray in the Bay Area was opening MacArthur Park in Palo Alto in 1981 as Executive Chef. After ten years he moved on to open three restaurants in San Francisco which were all met with instant success that would last for another two decades.
Passionate about the restaurant industry, Faz opened his namesake restaurants all over the East Bay and Silicon Valley including: Danville, Oakland, Pleasanton, and Sunnyvale. And in 2007, he came full circle in his culinary journey and bought MacArthur Park, the restaurant that brought him to California.
