Federal District Court Reinstates Trollbeads'® Direct Control of Company's North American Distribution

PRINCETON, N.J., Feb. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Denmark-based Trollbeads^® (Troldekugler) – recognized as the worldwide originator of the charmed bead jewelry category – today announced that a senior United States District Court judge in Baltimore, Maryland has issued an order dissolving a temporary restraining order issued by a state court in Maryland that had been obtained by Lund Trading, the former Trollbeads distributor in North America.

The Federal Court ruling allows Trollbeads' privately owned parent company, Lise Aagaard Copenhagen A/S, to immediately assume direct control of distribution of Trollbeads products sold in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean Islands.

Lund Trading had been terminated by Trollbeads on January 25, 2011 following an internal investigation of the distributor and its owner Morten Lund Petersen over a period of months involving Trollbeads' private counsel and a private investigation firm. Subsequently, on January 28, Lund Trading obtained a temporary restraining order from a Maryland circuit court in an effort to forestall Trollbeads' decision to remove them as distributor.

Commenting on Trollbeads' effort to assume North American distribution, owner Lise Aagaard noted, "It's unfortunate that this transition has been confusing to a number of our retail partners, many of whom have expressed their support and encouragement regarding the change.  Despite past and future difficulties, Trollbeads intends to take whatever steps are necessary to protect the integrity of our brand and maintain the trust of our retail partners."

To address the needs of its North American retailer, Trollbeads has established a customer service and fulfillment facility in Princeton, New Jersey which has been fully staffed and operational since January 25^th. The parent company also plans to increase consumer awareness and appreciation of the Trollbeads brand in 2011, through increased advertising, promotion and enhanced communication and cooperation with its retail partners.
