Federated Small-Cap and Multisector Bond Funds Recognized by Lipper Awards for Category-Leading Performance

(NYSE: FII), one of the nation's largest investment managers, today announced two of its funds earned 2018 U.S. Thomson Reuters Lipper Fund Awards recognizing consistently strong risk-adjusted performance relative to their peers. Federated MDT Small Cap Core Fund (IS – QISCX) earned Lipper awards for the three-year and five-year periods ending Nov. 30, 2017, and Federated Strategic Income Fund (B – SINBX) earned a Lipper award for the three-year period ending Nov. 30, 2017.
Federated MDT Small Cap Core Fund earned Lipper Fund Awards in the Small-Cap Core Funds category, ranking best out of 807 funds and 278 portfolios for the three-year period and best out of 696 funds and 253 portfolios for the five-year period. The fund pursues long-term capital appreciation by investing in a diversified portfolio of domestic small-cap growth and value stocks of companies within the Russell 2000 Index. The fund management team employs a systematic, fundamentally-based investment process that seeks to identify the combinations of value, growth and quality characteristics of companies that have the potential to outperform.
