Fetch Technologies Secures Over $4.6 Million in Series B Funding
Funds will be used to expand market presence and advance technology
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fetch Technologies, the leader in making Web data accessible and useful for the enterprise, today announced the successful closing of a Series B round of funding. Fetch accesses data from millions of sites on the Web and creates real-time feeds of critical information for businesses. The funding will accelerate sales and marketing efforts and advance the firm's cutting-edge technology.
The investment in Series B was led by Robert Sansom, a founder of Fore Systems; Sheldon Stone, Founder and Principal of Oaktree Capital Management, LLC, who also joined the Fetch Board of Directors; and Frank Baxter, Chairman Emeritus of Jefferies and Company Inc.
Created at the University of Southern California's Information Sciences Institute, Fetch's proven, patented solution was originally funded with U.S. Government grants. Today, led by an experienced management team, Fetch has processed more than 4 billion data points for clients, including Dow Jones, Reuters, McGraw Hill and Verifications, Inc.
"Given the proliferation of data sources on the Web, companies today are struggling to stay current and competitive," said Fetch Technologies Chief Executive Officer Robert Landes. "Fetch transforms the Web into a usable database. This funding will get Fetch technology into the hands of more companies that can benefit from it."
"Fetch is a game-changer for any company that relies on Web data, which is virtually every company today," said Jim Swift, Fetch Technologies board member and President and CEO of Cortera. "I look forward to Fetch revolutionizing how businesses use the Internet."
