Fiksu Insources and Opens New Office in Western Massachusetts, With Plans to Hire
Mobile app marketing firm opens office in Western Mass. to support growth, and insource engineering talent locally
BOSTON, March 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fiksu, Inc. (www.fiksu.com), the industry's first mobile app user acquisition platform spanning the entire mobile ecosystem, opened a new office at 104 Main Street in Northampton, Massachusetts. The new space will initially house seven new employees focused on developing optimization algorithms for the Fiksu® for Mobile Apps platform, which helps brands improve app store visibility and secure large volumes of loyal users. The firm's investment in another Massachusetts office is a result of Fiksu's rapid growth, and demonstrates the company's continued efforts to insource new talent locally.
The company's growth comes as no surprise. GSMA recently released data predicting significant growth in mobile industry employment with more than 10 million mobile industry jobs by the end of 2015. Fiksu's growth is following a similar path and has tripled staff within less than a year, with expectations to double again in the coming year.
"At Fiksu, we've built a culture of innovation and collaboration – bringing together a remarkable group of local academics, marketers and engineers with a strong entrepreneurial edge," said Micah Adler, president and CEO of Fiksu and former professor of computer science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. "Our new Northampton location extends our commitment to hiring local talent and keeping jobs in Massachusetts, while creatively solving the problems that challenge today's mobile market space."
Boston-based Fiksu selected the Northampton location—close to Massachusetts' top institutions, including Amherst College and Smith College—in order to recruit much sought-after software engineering talent. The new location will draw prospective employees who prefer a rural lifestyle without the daily commute into downtown Boston.
Fiksu is actively hiring for its Northampton location and Boston headquarters, and is seeking talented software developers and engineers with a strong focus on big data and distributed systems.
Mark Corner, Vice President of engineering at Fiksu will run the new office. Corner is a recognized authority on mobile and pervasive computing and an associate professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
"Massachusetts has a strong history of innovation and is home to thousands of talented technical engineers," said Corner. "The expansion of our team will allow us to continue to pioneer new mobile advertising solutions and accelerate our ability to serve new and existing clients."
