Final Weekend at the 78th Annual San Mateo County Fair Delivers Best Entertainment Value in the Bay Area
Food, Animals and Concerts Take Center Stage
SAN MATEO, Calif., June 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Aiming towards one of the top three attended fairs since 1970, the San Mateo County Fair is set to continue delivering the finest fun and entertainment in the Bay Area during the final weekend running through June 17th.
From the mini steers to friendly scorpions to cuddly sheep, the Fair gives guests a head spinning tour of the animal kingdom in a few quick stops.
Rabbits and turkeys and cows, oh my! For the 4H enthusiasts, the Master Animal Showmanship is slated for Friday, June 15th. Small animals start at 12 noon with large animals starting at 3:00p. And, don't forget, the ever-popular Youth Livestock Auction on Saturday, June 16th at 10:00a.

The Rainforest Adventure makes it possible for you to visit the most densely populated, remote, and pristine ecosystems of the world, without ever getting on a plane. This traveling rainforest is filled with the flora and fauna that call the tropics of the world home and features the beauty and intricacy of nature.
Fair guest will have the unique opportunity to view and visit with animals including parrots with every color of the rainbow, jungle porcupines, and even an anaconda. Special animal encounters and fun for all throughout this lush exhibit are ultimately guaranteed.
The Ham Bone Express, the Swiftest Swine off the Line, is an attraction that will thrill people of all ages. This show is brought up to you by Steve Boger from Springdale, Arkansas. Each show consists of four races, with four pigs in each race. The piglets blaze around the track where they are given an Oreo cookie for a treat. Cheerleaders are chosen from four different sections of the audience and the winning cheerleader is given a prize. This attraction has thrilled countless people from border to border, coast to coast, and the islands of Bermuda and Puerto Rico. Make sure you arrive early to get a front row seat. The louder you scream the faster they run.

The Verizon Wireless Concert Series offers music lovers the best in popular music with all shows FREE with fair admission with Evolution (Journey Tribute Band) on June 15th and Night Ranger on June 16th. Concert doors will open at 6:30pm with concerts starting at 7:30pm.
Closing the Fair is Dia de La Feria, one of the most popular events, on June 17th. The day-long celebration of the Bay Area's Hispanic influence features special entertainment, dance performances and music played throughout the grounds. The amazing Beatrice Adriana accompanied by B.A. Solis, K-Paz de La Sierra, La Sonora Tropicana and Banda Corazon Ranchero highlight the festivities. Exceptional appearances and performances from La Raza 93.3FM and Estrella TV join the fun as well.
What's a fair without fair food? From funnel cakes to two-foot corn dogs to the delectable BBQ and fried Oreos, the most beloved part of the San Mateo County Fair is all the sumptuous Fair food. This year, the lines are extra long for the Cartwheel Burger. Guests are stopping by Capital Cookery next to the Wells Fargo Community Stage to sample the newest flavor of the fair.
