Finalists Announced for Launchpad 2016 Health Promotion Startup Competition
Live Pitch Event to be held April 27, 2016 in Orlando, Florida
TROY, Mich., March 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The 26th Annual Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference has announced the finalists for Launchpad 2016, a startup competition for entrepreneurs introducing new products, services or programs to promote healthy lifestyles.
The 2016 Launchpad applicants were judged on several criteria including innovation, filling a gap in the marketplace, the organization's talent plan, and strategies to address shortcomings.
"We believe that as an organization, it is our mission to support advancements in health promotion," said Dr. Michael P. O'Donnell, conference program chair. "We salute the 2016 Launchpad finalists for creating first-class programs and services that address a range of health concerns, bringing value to their customers and which have the potential to make a real difference in people's lives."
Four finalists were selected in the Business Category and one finalist was selected for Social Entrepreneur.

Finalists will pitch their concepts at the 26th Annual Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference on April 27, 2016, in front of an audience of conference attendees and a panel of five judges. A winner will be announced on the final day of the conference, April 29.

About Launchpad 2016:
Launchpad 2016 is the first startup competition for health promotion entrepreneurs presented by the Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference. Early stage startups were invited to submit proposals for new products, services or programs to promote healthy lifestyles.
A panel of entrepreneurs, and investors reviewed all proposals and selected five finalists to pitch their concept live at the Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference on April 27, 2016.
One or more startups will be announced as the winner(s) on the final day of the conference, Friday, April 29, 2016. Each winner will receive a free exhibit space at the 2017 Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference and will have the opportunity to network and gain valuable insights from attendees at a reception following the Launchpad 2016 event and throughout the course of the conference.

Since 1990, the Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference, presented by the American Journal of Health Promotion, Inc., has brought together health promotion professionals from across disciplines to learn about the latest research and share best practices.
