Financial Professionals Ed Holliday And Leanne Sindell Join L&S Advisors, Inc. As Managing Directors
New Team to Market L&S Advisors' Active Portfolio Management Services to Financial Advisors for Separately Managed Accounts
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- L&S Advisors, an independent, fee-only registered investment advisor (RIA), hired Ed Holliday as managing director, client development and Leanne Sindell as managing director, business development. In their new roles, Holliday and Sindell focus on developing the firm's relationships with financial advisors and educating them about its unique portfolio management services for separately managed accounts (SMAs).
Unlike other portfolio management services available for SMAs, L&S Advisors employs a tactical, active investment strategy without global, sector or capitalization restrictions. It focuses on a top-down allocation approach to invest in the optimum asset class at the time. With a strong emphasis on risk management and capital preservation, L&S considers cash as an asset class, and if economic conditions suggest a move to all cash, the firm has no systemic limitations from doing so. L&S upholds the philosophy that long-term success in the market is not driven by how much is captured on the upside, but more importantly how much is protected on the downside.
Holliday and Sindell each bring more than three decades of experience within the financial industry to their roles. They leverage their knowledge and understanding of the needs of third-party financial advisors to foster relationships and market L&S Advisors' services within the broker/dealer and RIA community.
"Ed and Leanne both possess in-depth industry expertise that is instrumental to informing financial advisors about our unique investment philosophy and how it benefits their clients who hold separately managed accounts," commented Sy Lippman, the firm's CEO and senior managing director. "We look forward to providing a broader audience of financial professionals with portfolio management services that can help their clients safely and successfully navigate continued volatility in the market."
Prior to joining L&S Advisors, Holliday served as director of client development and Sindell served as director, business development at Shinnecock Partners where they both focused on marketing financial products through C.K. Cooper to the independent broker/dealer community and RIAs.
Holliday brings a working knowledge of various investment strategies to his new role and has raised more than $2 billion in client assets throughout his career. He spent 12 years representing Campbell & Company, one of the largest absolute return portfolio managers. Prior to entering the investment industry in 1980, he worked in private and corporate aircraft sales. Holliday is a graduate of West Virginia Tech.
Sindell's career in the financial world commenced as a retail broker with Paine Webber and Wedbush Morgan Securities. For more than 20 years of her career, she has specialized in wholesaling alternative investments to the broker-dealer community and RIAs, raising more than $2 billion in client assets at various firms. Leanne studied at universities in Sweden, England and France, and graduated from Studio Bercot in Paris.
