Find Your BFF: Voting Opens Today for Sanrio's 40th Anniversary Character Ranking
Beginning today, April 10 through May 25, fans can cast their votes for their favorite characters with a chance to win a trip to Japan for the rankings reveal.
LOS ANGELES, April 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Sanrio®, the global lifestyle brand behind Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi and other iconic characters, is thrilled to announce the 40th anniversary of its iconic Character Ranking contest. This milestone voting event encourages fans from around the world to express their admiration for their favorite Sanrio characters by casting their votes for any of the 90 featured characters.
Throughout the voting process, fans can celebrate the unique personalities of their most cherished characters, while they discover and learn about new characters and their distinct traits to find their Sanrio BFF.

Fans can cast their vote online at sanrio.com or in-person at all Sanrio Stores, Cafes, and, for the first-time ever, all Hot Topic stores from April 10th to May 25th. In-store voters can receive a free "I Voted" sticker while supplies last. Participants will also have the chance to win a trip for two to Japan to attend the final character ranking reveal at Sanrio FES 2025, which will be announced at the event and online on June 29th. Details for the sweepstakes to be announced on April 25th. Winner to be announced on a date soon after the voting poll closes on May 25th.
