Finish That Novel: New iOS App Ink On Helps Writers Stay on Track
NEW YORK, Nov. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Inked Voices has released Ink On, a new iOS app to help writers hit their writing goals, just in time for NaNoWriMo, a worldwide online event that challenges writers to pen a 50,000 word novel in the month of November.

Ink On helps writers stay motivated and on track with its project and calendar based trackers for stats like word counts, writing time and writing days. Unique to the app is its focus on visual display of information. For example, the app uses a picture of a book to represent a project. The book fills up as the project is completed, giving writers instant visual feedback on their progress.
"When I ask writers about their greatest challenge, the most common answer is simply keeping up with their writing process," says Inked Voices' founder Brooke McIntyre. "I know it's true for me. With family and full-time jobs, it's hard to make time for our writing. But it's important. We created Ink On to help writers follow through. The app can be used in two modes. Calendar mode allows writers to set daily, weekly and monthly word count goals or to simply track days in the chair. Graphs help writers see where they are versus where they want to be. Project mode is for tracking goals on discrete projects, like a NaNoWriMo novel. Writers can also use the app's project timer to set their own sprints or pomodoros – short, timed bursts of writing activity often recommended as a strategy to get writing. Word counts and writing time entered in project mode are rolled up into calendar mode.
