NEW YORK, Jan. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Finn Partners today announced that it has acquired the business of Healy & Schulte, Inc., a Chicago-based marketing and public relations firm founded in 1990 as Healy Communications, Inc., for the Finn Partners' Chicago office.
Founder and principal John Healy has been appointed senior partner at Finn Partners, reporting to Dan Pooley, managing partner and Chicago office lead. Healy will support the continued expansion of the agency's Midwest integrated marketing, PR and research capabilities.
"John is a leader in research-based public relations and marketing strategy as well as program execution, and I'm excited to welcome him to the partnership," said Peter Finn, founding partner, Finn Partners. "He and his team will continue to build on our Chicago office's 50+ percent growth rate in 2012 and further strengthen our ability to deliver senior leadership on every account and a best place to work for our staff."
Healy's career spans more than 30 years in both Chicago and Washington, D.C. In Chicago, Healy was senior vice president at Ruder Finn and held positions at the Walgreen Company and Signode Corporation. In Washington, D.C., Healy served in two roles: as deputy to the director of public affairs of the U.S. Department of Commerce; and as the assistant secretary for public affairs of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
"I've known Peter Finn for nearly my entire career, and I'm extremely excited to join Finn Partners and help build what is a very compelling new agency model for both clients and the professionals who serve them," said John Healy.
Healy offers his clients proven experience in public relations, trade and consumer marketing, public affairs and international communications, which has included myriad successful marketing and PR programs for such clients as the National Automatic Merchandising Association, Citicorp/Citibank, the Academy of General Dentistry, No nonsense®, the Miss America Organization and a variety of professional services firms and trade associations.
"The acquisition of Healy & Schulte's business absolutely deepens our bench strength and creative and research capabilities, which helps us continue to expand our offerings to clients," said Pooley. "In addition, with our network and their experience, we'll have an unmatched ability to service industry, association and professional services clients."
Among the team joining Finn Partners is seven-year Healy & Schulte veteran Ann Morris, who will join as a partner. Morris brings more than 20 years of experience in the consumer, B2B, professional services and association sectors. Industries served include consumer packaged goods, healthcare, restaurant/foodservice, children's publishing and toys, law and direct marketing.

In addition to agency work, Morris is a "mom-trepreneur" who co-managed a children's toy store with locations in the Chicago suburbs.
