Finn Partners Appoints David MacKay as Partner
MacKay to Expand Finn Partners' Integrated Marketing, Will Create the First Washington, DC Presence for the Firm's Arts & Communications Counselors Division
NEW YORK, Oct. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Finn Partners today announced the appointment of David MacKay as Partner at the agency, based in its Washington, D.C. office. His responsibilities will be two-fold: leading and expanding the firm's regional integrated marketing capabilities, and serving as the first Washington-based Partner of the firm's division Polskin Arts & Communications Counselors, which is headquartered in New York. MacKay assumes his new role as Finn Partners strengthens its position in Washington, DC and continues its overall growth as a leading independent communications agency.
"David is one of the finest talents in the public relations business," said Peter Finn, Founding Partner of Finn Partners. "He brings to Finn Partners a distinct blend of creative and strategic vision, business development acumen, and peer credibility leading outstanding communications and brand building programs for Fortune 500 brands, non-profit institutions, government agencies and associations. Moreover, his insights into the cultural landscape, and his experience marketing some of the nation's largest and most respected cultural institutions make him a natural fit for Finn Partners' Polskin Arts division, the global communications leader in the arts."
MacKay's marketing career spans more than 25 years in global agency leadership roles, combining experience in integrated communications, brand building, strategic planning, customer engagement, and team leadership with emerging media, design, storytelling and digital solutions.
Most recently, MacKay was Senior Vice President and Senior Partner at Fleishman-Hillard (Washington, DC), overseeing the integrated marketing division. He drove the strategic direction and creative execution of integrated, brand-building campaigns for a diverse roster of clients across a wide range of issues and industry sectors. Clients included Bloomberg Government, NeighborWorks America, AT&T, Saudi Aramco, and Circuit City. He shaped and directed the positioning and integrated media campaigns for both the historic groundbreaking of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture and the openings of three major exhibitions at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.
"I'm excited to be joining the Finn Partners team. On a professional level, I was drawn to the firm for its independence, new canvas to paint on, entrepreneurial marcom skills, and best-in-class reputation in the cultural public relations field." said MacKay.
MacKay served in a number of executive roles at Hill+Knowlton, including U.S. director of client services and practice leader of the firm's integrated marketing group in Washington, DC and Chicago. MacKay has served on the boards of the Chicago Historical Society, Chicago Opera Theater, and Harris Theater for Music and Dance, and holds a B.A. in Journalism from The George Washington University.
MacKay will divide his time between the Washington, DC and New York offices, reporting to Jessica Ross, Senior Partner and General Manager of the Washington, DC operation, and Philippa Polskin, President of Polskin Arts and Communications Counselors in New York.
