First and Only Bluetooth® Enabled Pregnancy Test Now Available Nationwide, From the Makers of First Response™
New Pregnancy PRO Digital Pregnancy Test Stick Connects to a Mobile App, Unlocking a Personalized Experience Based on the User's Data Input and Test Result
EWING, N.J., April 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Church & Dwight Co. Inc. (NYSE: CHD), the makers of First Response™ pregnancy and ovulation tests, has announced that First Response™ Pregnancy PRO Digital Pregnancy Test + App Access*, the first and only Bluetooth®** enabled pregnancy test stick, is now available nationwide.
Unveiled earlier this year at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show, the Pregnancy PRO digital pregnancy test syncs directly to the First Response™ app on a user's mobile device. Once synced, the app provides women with step-by-step assurance through her testing process, as well as a variety of resources to help reduce stress during the three-minute countdown to the result. Once the result is displayed on the user's test stick, the result will sync to the user's mobile device and the app will provide a personalized action plan based on the user's data input and the test result.
"First Response has been a trusted brand for women for nearly 30 years and we understand the many emotions and questions that arise during the pregnancy journey. When seeking answers to her questions, millennial mothers turn to their smartphones," said Stacey Feldman, Vice President of Marketing, Church & Dwight. "This is why First Response pioneered the first and only Bluetooth® enabled pregnancy test and app access, which instantly gives her the information she needs during her pregnancy journey on the device she's using most, her smartphone."
During the three-minute wait time, the user is offered a variety of options to help ease anxiety, including:
- Calm Me: Relaxing visual content, such as ocean waves and breathing techniques
- Educate Me: Content that informs her, such as fertility quizzes and top conception questions
- Entertain Me: Videos to help distract and entertain her, such as cooking tricks and playful animals
Following the test result, the Pregnancy PRO app will offer suggested next steps and informative resources, based on the user's input data. This information can range from understanding how fertility works, to pregnancy fitness, nutrition, pregnancy milestones, suggested questions to ask her doctor, and updates on the expected growth of the baby (based on normal gestational development). Content partners featured the app include Meredith Corporation, Buzzfeed, RESOLVE and First Response reproductive specialists.
"My patients come to me with a multitude of fertility and contraception questions," said Dr. Lauren Streicher, practicing Ob-Gyn and Associate Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. "But I can't be in their home with them when they take that all important pregnancy test. The Pregnancy PRO app experience offers women a wealth of trusted resources and accurate information for their reproductive, pregnancy and fertility-related questions right at their fingertips."
