First Michigan Bank Names Commercial Lending Chief

Thomas C. Shafer is new Executive Managing Director, Commercial Banking

TROY, Mich., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- First Michigan Bank announced today that Thomas C. Shafer has been named Executive Managing Director, Commercial Banking, effective immediately.

Shafer has been employed by Citizens Republic Bancorp since 1994.  He held the position of Executive Vice President, Specialty Banking; Executive Vice President, Regional Banking; Regional President, East Michigan; President, Southeast Michigan; and Executive Vice President, Commercial Banking and Chief Credit Officer.  He also worked at Michigan National Bank in various commercial assignments.

Shafer is a graduate of Hillsdale College.  He also attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin.  He is active on the Detroit Regional Chamber Board and the Metropolitan Affairs Coalition and is a member of the Executive Committee and Governance Committee of Detroit Public Television.  Shafer resides in Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.
