First-of-Its-Kind Shopping Center Announces Major Tenants
A'GACI and Texas Roadhouse coming to Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas
EL PASO, Texas, March 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss, the first-ever, open-air shopping center to be part of a United States military installation, is pleased to announce that A'GACI, O'shoes, and Texas Roadhouse will soon open at the retail destination.
A'GACI, O'shoes, and Texas Roadhouse join a roster of successful tenants including: The Exchange, Commissary, Grand Theatre Fort Bliss 10, Under Armour, Buffalo Wild Wings, Smashburger, Shamrocks Irish Pub, The Sushi Place, and more. Comprised of more than 461,000 square feet of Gross Leasable Area, Freedom Crossing is one of the only shopping centers to be built in the United States in recent years, and the first opportunity for businesses to privately-operate within an open-air center on a U.S. military installation.
A leader in the fashion industry with 45 locations in the United States, A'GACI will feature nearly 8,000 square feet at Freedom Crossing of apparel and accessories for today's modern, glamour girl. O'shoes, a sister store of A'GACI, exudes the same hip energy and offers trendy shoes that young women want at prices that fit their pocketbook.
Texas Roadhouse will open a 7,900 square foot restaurant with large outdoor patio looking over the shopping center's interactive fountain. Serving Hand-Cut Steaks, Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs, Made-From-Scratch Sides, and Fresh-Baked Bread, Texas Roadhouse prides itself as a place where everyone, of all ages, can come and have a great meal and great fun for a great price.
The good news does not stop at A'GACI and Texas Roadhouse. Also opening soon at Freedom Crossing are Things Remembered, Chi Town Bar-B-Que, Auntie Anne's, Cinnabon, and Old Fort Bliss Cigar.
While many shopping centers faced negative absorption during the challenges of the last few years, Freedom Crossing has experienced double-digit growth and is a bright spot in the shopping center industry.
Fort Bliss is undergoing significant expansion under the Base Realignment and Closure Act of 2005 including $4.8 billion in fully funded construction that is already complete or under way. Over the last five years, the Fort Bliss community has grown by more than 60 percent and by the end of 2012, the military community at Fort Bliss will reach 127,000 with a daytime population of 49,000.
Freedom Crossing also offers a full event calendar and unrivaled amenities including a rainforest-themed children's play area, green grass event lawn, shaded dining patios, interactive fountain, outdoor fireplace, free chess, foosball and Wifi access. The shopping center creates a central village within Fort Bliss and serves as a gathering place for the entire community.
Civilians are welcome at Freedom Crossing at Fort Bliss. The movie theatre, restaurants and events are open to all; however, the PX and Commissary remain exclusively for military ID card holders. To access Fort Bliss, show a valid Driver's License and U.S. plated vehicle at the Robert E. Lee or Cassidy gates, seven days a week, 24-hours a day.
