First Phase of SUPOR Sanitary Ware's World's Largest Stainless Steel Faucet Plant has Reached Annual Capacity of 10 Million Units

HANGZHOU, China, April 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SUPOR Sanitary Ware Co., Ltd ("SUPOR Sanitary Ware"), a subsidiary of China SUPOR Group, has recently announced that the first phase of its stainless steel faucet manufacturing facility – the largest in the world –, which was put into production in 2012, has reached an annual capacity of 10 million units. The company also announced that it will attend the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in New Orleans, U.S.A, from 19 to 21 April 2013 (Booth 4465).

SUPOR set foot in the stainless steel sanitary ware sector in May 2008, with more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing stainless steel cookware. Its 86-hectare stainless steel faucet manufacturing facility in Shenyang, China is the largest of its kind globally. As at the end of 2012, investment in the facility had reached USD 260 million, with plans to totally invest USD 500 million when all is said and done.

In addition, SUPOR Sanitary Ware has made significant breakthroughs in stainless steel processing, welding and polishing, after nearly five years of research in association with the global leader in automation technologies, ABB, as well as with Tsinghua University and several scientific research institutions both in China and abroad. Investment in the research has reached nearly USD 100 million. The Shenyang facility has brought in 120 automatons for polishing from the world's leading automation technology provider, ABB – a move that allowed for replacement of 80% of the polishing workforce and for the level of scalability that resulted in the mass production capacity.

With the first phase completed and in full production, SUPOR Sanitary Ware is moving ahead with the second phase, also in Shenyang, which, upon completion, will house 54 production lines, each of which will be 120 meters long, capable of producing in aggregate 48 million faucets annually and of delivering an annual output value amounting to USD 1.61 billion.

To meet the industry standards of different countries and regions, SUPOR Sanitary Ware has obtained several industry certifications including, to date, CUPC, ACS and WATERMARK, and is aggressively preparing for several others, including DVGW, WRAS, NF, WELS and KIWA.
