First USDA Certified Organic Skin Care Line Using Kakadu Plum To Hit World Market
- CANADIAN COSMETIC COMPANY AWARDED THE COVETED USDA CERTIFIED ORGANIC SEAL FOR SKIN CARE -
TORONTO, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Niko Papadatos, CEO and Founder of Niko Cosmetics Inc., has achieved the coveted USDA Certification for his new True USDA Certified Organic Skin Care line.
Niko's innovative formula uses USDA-approved organic ingredients that do not contain harmful chemicals or fillers. Most manufacturers normally use 80 percent water as their base ingredient and 10 percent toxic preservatives, leaving only 10 percent of organic ingredients. Niko Cosmetics offers a completely organic dry formula for its cleansers, exfoliant and masks, allowing the consumer to add the required water to each treatment. The absence of water means there are no chemical preservatives required. This also makes the product lighter, lowering the carbon footprint for transportation. Recognized by the USDA Organic Certification program, Niko Cosmetics bears the coveted USDA Organic seal on the entire organic skin care line, which is comprised of a cleansers, toner, exfoliant, serum, masks and moisturizers. This seal is approved for products containing 95-100 percent certified organic ingredients. While many claim organic on their label or in their brand name, the truth is that the content of certified organic ingredients in their formulae is less than that approved by USDA standards. If the label does not bear the USDA ORGANIC seal, it is not recognized to be a True Certified USDA Organic product.
WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL 'SUPER FRUIT' ANTIOXIDANT: THE KAKADU PLUM
Niko is proud to launch his latest 'super fruit' ingredient: the Kakadu Plum. Found in the Northern Region of Australia, this fruit has been used for centuries by the indigenous people for medicinal and nutritional purposes. The Kakadu Plum offers the highest content of Vitamin C and antioxidant value in the world and contains 50 times the concentration of Vitamin C found in oranges. Vitamin C is a key ingredient required in the synthesis of collagen in the skin as well as offering skin-lightening effects. High concentrations of Vitamin C to the skin have been shown to increase elasticity, diminish wrinkles, and lessen sun damage discoloration. The antioxidant value in this fruit is vastly superior to any other fruit; while most fruits average an antioxidant level of approximately 1000 on the Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity Score (ORAC) the Kakadu Plum offers 1,250,000 um. The ORAC SCORE measures the amount of antioxidant value found in organic ingredients. Antioxidants are a key component in fighting free radical damage to our cells. Skin experts claim that antioxidants can help slow down the signs of aging and promote skin rejuvenation.
