FirstBank Launches New User-Friendly Mobile Application
Colorado-Based Bank is First Regional Bank to Offer FirstGlance Mobile Banking Technology
LAKEWOOD, Colo., May 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FirstBank Holding Company, the Lakewood-based holding company for the second largest bank by deposits in Colorado and the largest locally owned bank, today announced its new Mobile Banking Application features, including the new FirstGlance feature that allows you to check balances without logging in. The application, which leverages the bank's technology capabilities, makes the mobile banking experience much more user-friendly through the following features:
- Mobile Check Capture: Customers can take a mobile photo of the check, enter the dollar value and have the funds deposited directly into their account.
- FirstGlance: Customers can see a quick summary of their account information without having to login. FirstGlance also reminds customers of upcoming eBills to help consumers make smart purchasing decisions.
- Mobile Photo Bill Pay (Coming Soon): The technology allows customers to use their mobile device to add a new payee or pay a bill monthly by simply taking a picture of a remittance coupon.
In addition, the application allows customers to view transaction history, view check and deposit images, transfer money, find ATM and branch locations and view frequently asked questions.
"We're excited to release this new technology to our mobile banking customers," said Jim Reuter, Executive Vice President of FirstBank Holding Company. "It's arguably one of the most progressive and easy-to-use mobile banking technologies offered. FirstBank has been very fortunate to have a team of talented software developers, so we can make banking much more accessible and convenient for customers."
To help promote the free, downloadable app, FirstBank commissioned a "Get Back to the Real World" TV ad. The witty ad created by Boulder-based advertising agency, TDA, features a family donning futuristic computer glasses, which allow them to take "selfies," play games and ultimately, distract them from family dinner. The ad has been viewed nearly 200,000 times on YouTube.
"The purpose of our ad is to show how technology can sometimes be more disruptive than helpful," said Reuter. "We wanted to communicate to viewers that FirstBank's mobile app is easy, nonintrusive and built with the user in mind. I'm the first to admit that I'll be wearing tech glasses someday. We just want to remind people that there is a balance between face-to-face interaction and technology – we will continue to provide both to our customers."
FirstBank offers a full range of checking and savings accounts, including Free Checking and Free Business Checking. FirstBank offers its eSave account package, which automatically transfers 1 cent up to $99.99 to customers' savings account each time they use a debit card, pay a bill electronically or transfer funds. The bank also offers mortgages, home equity loans and a full range of commercial loans and business accounts and services.
